Ofir Turel is a Professor of Information Systems (IS) Management and the IS group co-lead at the University of Melbourne. Beforehand, he has held appointments with California State University and the University of Southern California, and had various fellowships in Asia and Europe. He has published over 250 journal papers in leading IS outlets such as MIS Quarterly, Journal of MIS, MIT Sloan Management Review, JAIS, EJIS, and ISJ, as well as in leading psychology and psychiatry outlets, such as Addiction, Journal of Psychiatric Research, Addiction Biology, NeuroImage, and Appetite. He has been recognized in the top 2% of researchers worldwide by a Stanford University study. His research has also been featured in numerous media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, LA Times, The Rolling Stone magazine, and TV and radio stations, globally. He is currently a Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly (since 2023; recipient of the Outstanding Associate Editor in 2019).
