Dr. Turel is Professor of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at California State University, Fullerton, and Scholar in Residence at the Decision Neuroscience Program, University of Southern California. His research interests include a broad range of behavioral, managerial and bio-physiological issues related to computer information systems and technologies. He has published over 190 journal papers in leading business, research methods, psychology, psychiatry and neuroscience journals. They include such information systems journals as MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, MIT Sloan Management Review, Journal of AIS, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, and Communications of the ACM. Example psychology and neuroscience outlets include Journal of Psychiatric Research, Addiction Biology, Cognitive, Affective & Behavioral Neuroscience, Social Neuroscience, Behavioural Brain Research, and Addictive Behaviors. His research has been featured in numerous media outlets, including for example, the Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Daily Mail, CBC, C|net, Times Higher Education, The Rolling Stone, and PBS. He is a Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly (since 2023; recipient of the Outstanding Associate Editor -2019) and an Associate Editor for Scientific Reports (the Open Access journal of Nature, since 2019).
